With summer in full swing, we had our second week of Summer Camp, with our Habitat Adventures!  The students joined us to travel to different areas of the world, learning about the animals that live there and the environment.

Let’s see where their exploration took them!

🌿Rainforest Play

On the first day, the children traveled into the fascinating world of the rainforest. They learned about the different layers of the rainforest and discovered which animals live in each layer. To show what they learned, they created colorful posters and placed the animals in their correct habitats.

The children also made rainforest dioramas using recycled paper. While creating their artwork, they learned about the importance of protecting rainforests and how we can help take care of our planet.

🌋Raging Volcano

The children became young scientists as they investigated the differences between mountains and volcanoes. They wondered whether the famous Mt. Fuji is a mountain, a volcano, or both—and discovered some fascinating facts along the way!

They also learned about special animals that live in and around volcanic areas. In the afternoon, everyone made their own volcanoes from clay. The day ended with an exciting baking soda volcano experiment, complete with bubbly eruptions!

🐬Under the Ocean

This day was a special field trip day! Before heading out, the children talked about ocean animals and created their own ocean posters. Then, we traveled to Maxwell Aqua Park in Shinagawa, where they had the chance to see many amazing sea creatures up close.

One of the highlights was watching the spectacular dolphin show. After returning to camp, the children continued their ocean adventure by making mini aquariums decorated with shells and colorful paper fish.

❄️Arctic Adventures

Our final day of summer camp took us to the cold and snowy Arctic! The children learned about the Arctic environment and discussed how animals survive in such cold conditions. They discovered some of the amazing ways Arctic animals keep warm.

The children then had fun creating paintings with ice paint before making beautiful artwork featuring Arctic animals. To finish the camp with a laugh, they played a penguin game where they had to waddle around while keeping a balloon between their legs!

It was an amazing four days of discovery, creativity, science, and fun. The children learned so much while making wonderful memories together. What a fantastic summer camp adventure! 🌿🌋🐬❄️
