We are excited to announce that Beyondia International School Meguro has started violin lessons as an after-school activity for children aged 3 and above!

Each lesson is 30 minutes long and starts around 4:00 p.m.

For many of the children, this is their first time playing the violin. Although they may feel a little nervous at first, they are also very curious about the instrument. They join each lesson with excitement, wondering, “What kind of sound will it make?”

A Wonderful Introduction to Music

Learning the violin from an early age is not only about learning how to play songs.

Through the lessons, children develop a variety of skills while enjoying music, such as listening carefully, concentrating, moving their fingers and arms, and developing a sense of rhythm.

The lessons begin with the basics, such as how to hold the violin and bow correctly.

“How do I hold it?”
“What kind of sound will it make?”

By touching the instrument and listening to the teacher play, the children gradually learn and discover something new in each lesson.

30 Minutes of Learning with a Professional Teacher

During each lesson, a professional violin teacher carefully supports each child according to their individual pace.

By watching the teacher play, listening to the sounds, and copying the teacher’s movements, the children gradually become more comfortable with the violin.

Sometimes, a child who was carefully moving the bow at first will light up with a big smile when they are able to make a sound by themselves.

These small moments of “I did it!” help children experience the joy of trying something new and build their confidence.

Small Hands, Big Growth

Holding the violin, moving the bow, and listening carefully to the teacher—each of these is an important challenge for young children.

Rather than focusing on playing well right away, we value the children’s feelings of “Violin is fun!” and “I want to try again!”

During each 30-minute lesson, every child can learn at their own pace, take on new challenges, and gradually build their skills.

A New After-School Activity at School

One of the great things about these violin lessons is that children can enjoy them right here at school.

Being in a familiar environment helps children feel comfortable and confident as they try something new.

Through our violin lessons, we hope to nurture not only a love of music but also the children’s willingness to say “I want to try!” and the confidence that comes from saying “I can do it!”

We are excited to see the sounds they will create and how they will continue to grow through their musical journey!
